The U16s Indigenous Touring Team has claimed victory in their first two matches in France, defeating Toulouse U16s 32-6 and an open aged Toulouse side 20-16.

The touring players were split into two sides, with the ‘Red, Black and Yellow’s’ taking on the Toulouse U16s in the opening game.

Running into a gale force wind, the ‘Red, Black and Yellow’s’ carved out a hard fought 16-nil lead at half-time and played exciting football in the second half to run out convincing 32-6 victors.

Front-rower and NSW U16s Representative Tyler Terare was named Man of the Match.

‘Team Deadley’ were next to take the field and had their work cut out for them in facing a strong Toulouse open aged side.

In a hard fought first half, ‘Team Deadly’ went into the break with an unexpected 10-4 lead that shocked their hosts.

Toulouse leveled the game just after half-time, but in a courageous display ‘Team Deadly’ went on to score two more tries to their opponents one to run out 20-16 winners.

Fullback Chris Kirby was named Man of the match.

The team’s next match will be a highly anticipated clash with the London Broncos Academy side.
